They tend to be one of the very few zerg encountered singly, as the swarm uses them as scouts. Hoards of mutalisks however make fierce opponents. Combat The mutalisk rarely lands when engaging in combat as it is slow on the ground. It favors flyby attacks and makes heavy use of its breath weapon. Breath Weapon (Ex): A mutalisk is able to exhale tiny creatures from its tail, called glaive wurms, that live within its stomach every other round. These creatures fill an area within a 10 foot radius and anything caught in the radius is buffeted by the creatures, who secrete digestive fluids and cause themselves to burst. The explosion causes 2d6 points of concussive damage and 6d6 points of acidic damage. |
